Public Works

The Public Works Department is responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of all of the Tribe’s infrastructure systems including water, wastewater, streets and storm drains.  Bear River currently operates 3 water treatment systems, one for the Casino and Hotel, one for the Tish Non Community Center and residential homes, and one small system on tribal property in Rohnerville. The wastewater system consists of collection lines and 2 wastewater treatment facilities, both on site in Loleta.

12/3/14 ****NEWS ALERT**** The Bear River Tribal Council has approved an upgrade to the Bear River water system for 2015. A system wide water softener will be installed in 2015 as part of the 2015 capital expenditures on the government side to address and alleviate the hard water situation.


The Tribal Council is asking anyone interested on serving on the Water Utility Services Authority Board to please submit a letter of interest.  Please submit all letters to Cindi Petrusha.  Mike Flockhart, Director of Public Works will attend all meetings.  There will be four scheduled meetings.  The meetings now are scheduled for every 3rd Wednesday, every 3 months.  (March, June, September and December)  The meetings will be in the evening time at 6:00 p.m.  If you live on the reservation and would like to be a part of this important Board please send in a letter today.
